Alexandre Lacazette kicked off his Arsenal career after coming on as a substitute to score in the side’s opening pre-season clash with Sydney FC on Thursday.
The France striker, who completed a club-record £52million move to the Emirates earlier this month, started off from the bench for the Gunners’ first fixture on tour in Australia as Per Mertesacker scored Arsenal’s first goal before the break.
Arsenal fans were waiting for Lacazette’s arrival and the forward came on midway through the second-half.
The ex-Lyon man fired home his first ever Arsenal goal in the 84th minute after Alex Iwobi spotted him with a nice cross.
The Gunners however, will face Western Sydney Wanderers before taking on Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Benfica and Sevilla.
